If you are looking for classical guitar lessons here on the Isle of Wight, then you have come to the right place! I've been playing guitar since childhood and studied at the Royal College of Music in London. Since graduating in 1987 my time has been divided between teaching, giving concerts, and researching into the area of Latin American guitar.
My love for South American music has taken me many times to Argentina, Venezuela and Cuba. Friendships made on my travels have led to the concert series in St Catherine's Ventnor; when friends are touring in Europe they have added the Isle of Wight to their itinerary. Artists who have featured in the series have included Victor Villadangos, Pepe Ferrer, Analia Rego and Ricardo Curbelo. Our last concert featured the Cuban guitar duo of Eduardo Martin and Ahmed Dickinson.

Concert at St Catherine's church in Ventnor
​We are delighted to welcome the return of Argentine guitarist composer/arranger Pepe Ferrer. He will join myself and oboist Sarah Williams for a concert at St Catherine's on Wed July 9th. Please see the adjacent poster for more details.
Music played will be a selection of guitar solos, guitar duos, music for guitar and oboe/cor-anglais and for two guitars and oboe! Also on this page is a sound file of a duo for guitar and cor-anglais, as played by Sarah and myself. The piece is called: "Le Petit Tango" and was composed by Cacho Tirao.
